All bareboat briefers and radio operators working for a bareboat charter organisation in the Whitsundays are required under the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Regulations 1983 to complete an approved Bareboat Briefers course.
The Bareboat Briefer has a key responsibility to assess the competency of charterers' boating skills to determine whether or not a sail guide may be required for the charter, and consequently ensuring the safety of the charterer and their passengers, the vessel they have chartered.
