OTHER COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR COMPLETION:
TDMME507B Transmit and receive information by marine radio or telephone
TDMMF1007B Provide elementary first aid
TDMMF1107B Survive at sea in the event of vessel abandonment
TDMMF5407A Observe safety and emergency procedures on a coastal vessel
TDMMF5507A Fight and extinguish fires on board a coastal vessel
AYF TL4 or equivalent for qualifying sailing experience
Restricted Coxswains Licence or
Restricted Master Class 5
Application for Registration as a Bareboat Briefer is made to the Great Barrier Marine Park Authority
with evidence of the above Qualifications.
OUTCOMES:
A Bareboat Briefer:
Coxswain Restricted to the Bareboat industry and the Bareboat operational area of Queensland, may brief bareboats less than 15 metres long or
Master Class 5 restricted to the Bareboat industry and the Bareboat operational area of Queensland, may brief bareboats 15 metres or longer
The holder of the above certificate can act as:
Sail briefer, Sail guide, Master of a “Service Boat” registered to a specific Bareboat company or Master of a Bareboat delivery for commercial ships less than 15 metres in length within a prescribed bareboat operational area.
