Qualification Pathways and Career Opportunities

Qualification pathways for personnel with seagoing qualifications and experience can lead to employment opportunities in many different sectors such as coastal shipping, offshore and gas, towage and port operations, ferries, marine tourism, marine conservation, fishing and aquaculture.

Some of the duties on Near Coastal vessels include: Master, Marine Engineer, Deckhand, Steward, Chef or Marine Tourism Tour Operator, Tour Guide, Fishing Guide, Scuba Diving Instructor Charter Boat Operator and Deckhand.

Funded Programs

We are a Skills Assure Supplier for Certificate 3 Guarantee Subsidy, including VETiS (VET in Schools) Higher Level Skills and User Choice Program for Traineeships

Certificate 3 Guarantee

The Certificate 3 Guarantee focuses on certificate III qualifications, often essential for entry-level employment across various sectors. In some cases, it may also cover foundation skills and lower-level vocational qualifications.

Higher-Level Skills

HLS provides subsidized training for certificate IV or higher qualifications and priority skill sets, aiding career advancement or university transition. Employers can access training to fulfill workforce development needs.

User Choice

The User Choice program in Queensland offers financial support to apprentices and trainees for industry-aligned, employment-based training, enabling them to choose approved organizations for customized, accredited education.
