A recreational marine drivers licence entitles the holder to operate a recreational vessel powered by a motor greater than 4.5kW/6hp

When completed a certificate of completion will be generated. - Practical Training (driving the boat) and Practical Assessment (driving the boat)
Note: Maritime Safety Queensland requires you to complete the practical within 3 months from the theory Certificate of Completion.

Boat Licence $280 - From 1st January 2025 the fee will be $350.00
Refund Policy
It is important to note that once you have paid for the RSML online theory you are deemed as having commenced and there is no refund applicable.
Practical assessment postponement booking fee
If you have booked your practical assessment and wish to postpone we will require at least 48hours’ notice (in business hours Monday to Friday) prior to course commencement. If notice is not received a $75.00 re-booking fee will apply.

Licence
Once you have completed all training and been issued your Boatsafe Certificate of Completion you then submit it to the Department of Transport and Main Roads customer service centre. Your licence is issued upon payment of a fee of $123.85.
NOTE: You are required to submit your Certificate of Completion within 6 months.
