The Coxswain Grade 3 certificate replaces Exemption 38 and provides basic seamanship knowledge and skills. A Coxswain 3 certificate holder may operate small domestic commercial vessels in smooth waters or close to shore.

Delivery Mode
Course duration is 2 days of face-to-face training and assessment with compulsory pre-course study that must be completed prior to attending the course. Course includes practical vessel handling and seamanship skills.
Units studied
MARN008 - Apply seamanship skills aboard a vessel up to 12metres;
MARK007 - Handle a vessel up to 12metres;
MARN008 - Apply seamanship skills aboard a vessel up to 12metres.
These units form part of the Coxswain Grade 1 qualification.

Learners can enroll at any time to commence their studies.
Enrolment is for a period of 12 months from the date of enrolment.
Upon payment of fees our learning documentation will be issued for your course preparation and classroom attendance.
