All bareboat briefers and radio operators working for a bareboat charter organisation in the Whitsundays are required under the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Regulations 1983 to complete an approved Bareboat Briefers course.

Australian Yachting Federation Certificate (now Australian Sailing) (TL 4 or equivalent Statutory Declaration Forms 4a and 4b)
Completed form: ‘On the job briefing presentation assessment evidence’, signed by supervisor
Bareboat Briefers are required to provide GBRMPA with copies of the above documents when applying to be a registered bareboat briefer in the Whitsunday Marine Park.
OUTCOMES
The holder of the above certificate can act as:
Sail briefer
Sail guide
Master of a ‘Service Boat’ registered to a specific bareboat company or
Master of a bareboat delivery for commercial ships less than 15 metres in length within a prescribed bareboat operational area
Radio Operator for a bareboat charter organisation (require Long Range Marine Radio Operator Certificate of Proficiency & Bareboat Briefers course only)
